Tagovailoa Returns, Leads Dolphins To Win Over Steelers

After Tua Tagovailoa had a concussion and was taken off the field on a stretcher, he came back three weeks later and led the Dolphins to a 16-10 victory over the Steelers.

Since being knocked unconscious against the Bengals, Tagovailoa led Miami on a nine-play, 71-yard touchdown drive, capped off with a scoring toss to Raheem Mostert.

The Pittsburgh quarterback, Kenny Pickett, had a concussion in the previous game against the Buccaneers. Sunday night he had trouble completing passes, threw 3 interceptions and also scored a touchdown. His second pick came near the end of the fourth quarter when the Steelers were close to taking the lead.

The Steelers had one more chance to score after making Miami punt, but that drive failed because Pickett threw another interception. The pass was bad and Noah Igbinoghene caught it in the end zone.

Pickett said that he and Diontae Johnson had a miscommunication about the game-ending interception. He said that it was his fault and that he should have done something differently.

Pickett’s only touchdown was when he threw the ball to another rookie, George Pickens, who then caught it for a touchdown. This was Pickens’ first career touchdown catch. For the night, Pickens caught six balls for a total of 61 yards and the one touchdown.

Miami could have increased its lead in the third quarter, but instead chose to go for it on fourth down in the red zone rather than kick a field goal. The Steelers defense held, but neither offense was able to gain any momentum in the second half.

The Steelers defense had a rough start to the game, but they improved as the game went on. They were especially good in the second half, but their offense didn’t do well and two late interceptions by Pickett ruined their chances of winning.
